Easter Treats - - Yum!

Pinterest is really going to make me broke! I am addicted to this site and am constantly checking what things I can do--whether it's baking, crafting, cooking..you name it. I'm in love with it! I have been in the spirit of Easter activities..crafts & baking. I found this Easter treats pin and already made up my mind to make it for my daughter's class before they are out for Easter break. Well of course I have to do a "trial run" to make sure it's delicious---I definitely don't want no kids teasing my daughter about her mama's baking. So I got the Robin's Egg Nest Treats and gathered all my materials I'd need. However, I am not a fan of artificial food coloring. Food dyes are a big no no in my house. In fact, I try not to buy items with artificial food colorings, so I've learned to make awesome food dyes with veggies! Yes you read that correctly. If you didn't know, you can make some tasty, and not to mention healthy, food dye naturally that actually tastes pretty good. I have a 6, 5 & 2 year old who can agree with that.
First things first---follow all the directions on the Robin's Egg Nest Treats page. If you're like me, omit the artificial food dye coloring. Instead, here's what I tried and it worked perfect! I put about 1 to 2 cups of kale in the blender, add a little water to help the blender mix it well. Now you just power it on and blend it until the leaves are all turned to juice. add about 2 tablespoons to the coconut flakes (or you can add more. I believe I added about 4 tablespoons, I wanted it a little bit darker green.). The more you keep adding, the darker the color. If you follow the directions on the link above, you'll have great results like me :) My kids and husband enjoyed them! And I don't have to feel guilty about the dye--it's KALE! something they won't eat just like that.
Here is what my outcome was...I'm quite pleased with it :) In fact, I'm PROUD of it. I cannot wait to make some for my daughter's class.
They passed the taste test :)

Citrus Scrub

Well lately my face looks like it's had its beatings =/ . Lack of sleep, no resting can put a toll on not only my body but my complexion as well. How much can a woman take?! I finally put my foot (well not literally but I liked the sound of that haha) and decided that I need to make time for myself. This momma needs some TLC and not just from my dear husband. :) First things first, I found an awesome recipe, thanks to Pinterest. I must give credit where credit is due. Thank you to Petit Elefant for posting it on your blog so I was able to experiment and found it to work incredibly well!

Here's what you'll need:

A blender or bowl to mix the ingredients---I used a blender, so much easier and faster.
2 Slices of Lemon
2 Slices of Oranges
1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
1/2 Cup of Sea Salt

















After getting all of my ingredients and blender ready I put them in the blender. As you can see in the first picture, I had already put the oil and sea salt in the blender. I was so excited to make it that I forgot to take a picture of the two ingredients in the measuring cups.

Next after everything's put in the blender, push the ON button and start blending!! :) it's awesome seeing how the consistency gets so thick and smells so delicious!
Here is what mine turned out like. I didn't have a glass jar so I just used an empty plastic container. Whatever works, right? I tried it as soon as I was finished and it felt amazingly citrusy ;) The "glow" on my complexion looked like it was coming back and I definitely felt more refreshed. Yay for the citrus scrub!!

Assyrian Video, Qalat Qarna

Hi All!!! My husband has worked very hard to make this video as good as it can get, considering how old the footage is. It's his brother singing the famous Assyrian song, Qalat Qarna. He added clips from different movies and internet images to perfect this video. My husband has such a passion for video editing, he loves it..probably more than he loves me!! ;) haha. I hope everyone who watches this video, whether you understand the lyrics or not (because it is in Assyrian), will love the actual editing of the video. M I A

So I must say that everything I have been doing nowadays and the things that I did do days before have definitely caught up to me. As a stay at home mom, you'd think things are much simpler. Um. No. Think twice. Everything's in your hands to maintain while the husband (or your significant other) is at work to pay the bills. Although, my dear husband tries to help as much as he can, but we all know that it's a woman's JOB to do the cleaning if you want it done right! :) I must not knock my husband down though, he is a pretty clean and responsible guy. If he makes a mess, he'll clean it up where I won't notice..especially after just cleaning all day. That's one of the many reasons why I love him so dearly.
With 3 young children (ages 6, 5, and almost 2) I have been running around doing so much and honestly I don't know why! haha. Even at night, I don't get a full night's sleep. My youngest keeps waking up, molars are such a bother. I wish they'd just grow out already. These teeth are not only torturing dear daughter but her mother as well. ughhh I can't wait for it to be over with.

My exhaustion caused me to be MIA from my blog. My apologies. I wanted to share a little birthday basket full of cake pops I made for a lady that works with my mother. That will save for another post, another day because I have to gather the photos together and recall what I used and all. I was very proud of it! It looked so beautiful. I cannot wait to show you all. Hopefully later tonight I will post it up or even tomorrow. I may need to call it an early night.

New day, New Beginning

After days of web browsing and researching, I have decided to finally start my own blog! How exciting! I am new to all of this so it's going to take some getting used too. I do plan on blogging what I am going to start doing/making. I have recently fallen in love with the idea of making cake pops! It looks so neat, especially the characters! I cannot wait. My first one will hopefully be an Easter theme one. I have bought all the needed supplies, so maybe day 1 will be tomorrow. Pictures will be attached, maybe even a video, who knows!
